The Lion Half Marathon 2024
An exceptional sporting day on 29 September 2024
Since 1984, the Lion Half Marathon has been a must for French sportsmen and women. In 2024, this mythical race will start in Belfort (Doubs) and reach Montbéliard through 10 municipalities.
Personal bests, a great atmosphere and walks on the theme of "local historical figures" are on the programme for this 39th edition!
The Lion Half Marathon 2024
The different races
For the 2024 edition, you will be able to participate in five races on three different courses:
- La Féline Solidaire: a 5km race in support of the fight against breast cancer, starting in Vieux Charmont.
- The 10 km of the Lion: starting in Châtenois les Forges
- The half-marathon : from Belfort to Montbéliard. The route is rather flat with no particular difference in altitude.
The finish of the half-marathon will be on the Place du Champ de Foire in Montbéliard. There's no doubt that the atmosphere will be great: almost 25,000 spectators are expected along the route!
The Lion Walks
Culture and heritage on the programme for Saturday 28 September!
Three walking and Nordic walking circuits of 5, 10 and 15 km are on offer, starting from the Pays de Montbéliard aerodrome on the theme of "Étienne Oehmichen, the brilliant inventor".
A 3km cultural walk is also planned in the historic centre of Belfort, starting from the Tourist Office.
